Notable TikTok creator Michaela Angemeer explores connecting with your inner child, loving the worst parts of yourself, coming out as bisexual, and focusing on self-growth in her much-anticipated poetry collection.

Please Love Me At My Worst is a collection of four sections of poetry inspired by loneliness, unrequited love, and not being able to let go of past relationships. Written during the 2020 COVID-19 quarantine, the book is a reflection of what it means to yearn for people who are unavailable and how important it is to focus on self-love and healing.

This book was honestly a breath of fresh air. It connected with me in so many ways and I enjoyed every minute of it. I opened it and read it all in a day. This is definitely a book I’d recommend 100x. It lives on my nightstand with my other favorites!

Poetry is used to invoke emotions and this poetry book did so, for me. I felt myself reliving life again from a young age but somehow I feel okay because I am not alone?

Going through life, you’re gonna be alone. In my opinion, you need to learn to live with yourself and be accepting of yourself before you can give yourself to someone else. You need to come to terms with who you are.

Each verse/page was so beautifully crafted and written with emotion. As the reader, I was able to partially relive life as it was and what it can be, not exactly as the writer but pretty close.

I pre-ordered this book just to make sure I could get my hands on it that moment it got released–honestly, first book I’ve ever done this with & was it ever worth it! I absolutely love how beautiful and relatable Michaela is. This is my second book I’ve got of her poetry and am so happy I found her & her amazing work

In this poetry collection, there are four sections titled “please love my inner child,” “please love me at my worst,” “please love me for who I am,” and “please love who I’m becoming.” There are themes of connecting with your inner child, loving the worst parts of yourself, coming out as bisexual, and focusing on self growth.

Some of the poems were very short, but still drew gut punches of emotion. I wasn’t super compelled throughout, but I found it to be relatable, and the feelings portrayed were clear and felt

I enjoyed reading this book so much! I was so surprised when I read a poem regarding astrology, which is a subject I truly love — happy to know that the author is also a scorpio sun. Every poem is full of emotion and beautifully written. She’s very talented and I’m glad I chose this book. The illustrations throughout the book are also beautiful.

Exactly for Rupi Kaur’s readers!

You will not be disappointed with this collection. It’s that this feels like the younger version of Rupi Kaur’s poetry collection.

The lines are genuine and, no doubt, you will feel connected to the written words as soon as you start reading them.

Go for this collection. The nostalgia hits you right.
